I highly suggest starting your couponing journey at Dollar General because it’s incredibly simple! You only require your phone and the DG app – no need for paper coupons, as everything is digital. Along with the fantastic discounts we regularly score on essential household items like laundry detergent, dish soap, toothpaste, and body wash, we’re also enjoying some delicious treats such as soda, fruit gummy snacks, and candy.

Each week, Dollar General gives everyone a digital coupon worth $5 off of a $25 purchase. You can locate the coupon in the DG app; just click “Explore Digital Coupons”. It should be the first coupon to pop up. The good news is that the $5 off $25 coupon will stack with other coupons in the app. Check out this scenario from my TikTok. If it doesn’t check all your boxes, I have several more scenarios for this week. I’m here to show you which coupons to clip, which items to choose, and how much money you’re going to save! All you need is your phone!
$5 Off $25 (and now $10 Off $40!)
The 5 off 25 coupon (or 10 off 40) will be super important to getting the most out of your savings. This is because of something called “coupon stacking.” Essentially, we’ll be using the $5 off $25 coupon on top of other manufacturer coupons inside the Dollar General app in order to get a $25 cart for (usually) $10 or under!
Not so long ago, certain “new system” Dollar Generals began limiting this coupon stacking with the digital version of the $5 off $25–meaning, the digital $5 off $25 Dollar General store coupon would no longer come off at the register, instead just deducting the manufacturer coupons only. This isn’t happening at every store, thankfully, and I’m even more thankful that there seems to be a work-around for those stores who have stopped honoring the digital $5 off $25 stacking. In order to do this, you’ll need a paper version of the $5 off $25 coupon (often found at the bottom of your receipt).

When you get to a register (self checkout or traditional register, either works!) you’re going to scan the $5 off $25 paper coupon FIRST. Even before you scan any other item. Once you’ve scanned that, you’ll go ahead and scan your items, then enter your phone number, then hit “pay.” This should, once again, stack those coupons and get you your deal!
